Our Chapter Members give countless hours of service to the Sorority and the Passaic, Bergen and Morris County communities by lending their professional and personal expertise to honor the aims and ideals of the sisterhood. Rho Tau Zeta is engaged in a variety of activities that aid in the management of the Chapter’s operations, heightens our profesional skills, while enjoying these experiences, as sisters, along the way. As a result, our community gets first-class service from an exemplary organization.

Committees & Social Groups

Z-HOPE | Instituted in 2008, Zetas Helping Other People Excel is the National Service Program of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. An interactive holistic multidimensional outreach program designed to enhance, cultivate and empower participants to develop health promoting lifestyle choices across the lifespan. Specific to the population groups: Women, Youth, Seniors, Men, and International Women of Color.

SCHOLARSHIP | More than 50 high school seniors who have pursued higher education have benefitted from our annual scholarship program. The program is made possible through the charitable contributions of public and private donors throughout the year. Rho Tau Zeta also hosts academic workshops and forums to support educational opportunities of all kinds.

MEMBERSHIP | Membership to our Sorority is by invitation only. Our Membership Committee’s aim is to recruit, reclaim and retain professional women who are service-minded and enjoy working collaboratively. Learn more about How to Become a Member here in a new browser.

UNDERGRADUATE & YOUTH RELATIONS | Provides guidance and support to collegiate members as they operate chapters at William Paterson University and Ramapo College. Understanding the need for youth mentorship and programming to meet the needs of young girls, this committee plans, develops and implements age-appropriate programming for the eminent establishment of Archonette (high-school), Amicette (9-13 years old) and Pearlette (8 and younger) clubs in our service area. Finance, Budget & Fundraising | Manages the financial affairs of the Chapter while maintaining compliance with federal, state and local government regulations, as well as those of the Sorority. Creates engaging events that benefit our charitable programs and activities.

Fit-to-Finer Challenge | Maintaining good health as women is paramount. This group motivates Chapter members to get and stay healthy. Renowned Grammy Award-Winning R&B Diva, Soror Syleena Johnson, is leading this movement. Learn more on her Facebook page here.

Public Relations | Creates and implements media, community and internal promotional campaigns to keep the Chapter’s image positive, impactful, and engaging.

Sister Circles | Members with varied interests are grouped in a Sister Circle and encouraged to engage in service and social projects as a small group.
